Supporting Productive Integration of Web 2.0-Mediated Collaboration

چکیده
This paper describes a research evidence-based practice model, TSOI Hybrid Learning Model as a viable alternative to support productive integration of Web 2.0-mediated collaboration for learning. The model is advanced from the Science learning cycle and the Kolb’s experiential learning cycle. An authentic example on understanding multimedia learning pedagogy for preservice teachers in chemistry education is illustrated. The model guides the learning design involving Web 2.0-mediated collaborative activities. Outcomes in terms of richness of collaborative learning and reflections have been positive. Implications will be discussed in the context of blended learning in science

Investigating Dynamic Writing Assessment in a Web 2.0 Asynchronous Collaborative Computer-Mediated Context
This study aims at investigating the effect of dynamic assessment (DA) on L2 writing achievement if applied via blogging as a Web 2.0 tool, as well as examining which pattern of interaction is more conducive to learning in such an environment. The results of the study indicate that using weblogs to provide mediation contributes to the enhancement of the overall writing performance, vocabulary a...
متن کاملImpact of Dynamic Assessment on the Writing Performance of English as Foreign Language Learners in Asynchronous Web 2.0 and Face-to-face Environments
This study sought to investigate dynamic assessment (DA) - an assessment approach that embeds inter- vention within the assessment process and that yields information about the learner’s responsiveness to this intervention - and the writing performance of the second language (L2) learners in Web 2.0 contexts. To this end, pre and post-treatment writings of 45 par...
متن کاملFinding Synergies: Web 2.0 and Collaboration Support Systems
The prevalence and success of Web 2.0 applications in fostering collaboration raise the question whether or not traditional Collaboration Support Systems are still the tools of the trade when it comes to supporting collaborative work. In this paper, we argue that rather than replacing Collaboration Support Systems by Web 2.0 applications mechanisms from both domains may complement each other ad...
متن کاملDesigning Web 2.0 Collaboration Tools to Support Project-Based Learning: An Activity-Oriented Approach
Collaborative learning involves small groups of students working together to solve problems for the purpose of learning. There are a large number of researches that focus on the technical aspects of computer-mediated environments for collaborative learning. Very few studies have examined the design of Web 2.0 technologies to support collaborative learning using an activity-oriented approach. In...
متن کاملWeb 2.0 Based Collaboration in a Microblogging Environment: Effects on Organizations and Work Processes
In our contribution we will explore how Web 2.0 based collaboration platforms influence communication and collaboration in working groups. The impact of using Microblogging platforms for project management will especially be considered. Our assumption is that information sharing by Microblogging contributes to workplace awareness but also constitutes social relations, because all information ha...
